FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: READY NIGHT WITH THE DAYTONA CUBS

Jackie Robinson Stadium and the Daytona Beach Cubs have partnered up with the Volusia County Citizen Corps for the 3rd annual US Department of Homeland Security Ready Campaign to educate and empower the citizens of Volusia County to prepare for natural disasters and potential terrorist attacks. We are joined by about 40 Minor League Baseball Teams around the United States. The Daytona Beach Cubs are stepping up to the plate during the 2006 season to help encourage fans to prepare for emergencies. Citizen Corps volunteers and other community members will distribute emergency preparedness brochures that pertain to their individual programs, to the fans as they enter the stadium and as they leave. The management at the Jackie Robinson Stadium will also feature public service announcements on their scoreboards and in the game programs which are free to all that attend.

The "Ready Night" is scheduled for the 11th of August 2006 at 6 pm.

Please contact me as soon as possible at: Ray "Rocky" Siracusa, Citizen Corps Coordinator, 386-253-0563 ext 247 or e-mail rsiracusa-uwvf@cfl.rr.com or rayspubs@msn.com or 386-756-1274.
