Two more bits of exciting news from the Drama Dept. here at Deltona High School:

Blazing Stars at Deltona High:

Deltona High School is proud to announce that two of its’ seniors have been nominated in the Best Actor and Best Actress categories for outstanding performances in a High School musical production. Arienne Shelton was nominated for her role of Lucy and Adam Browning was nominated for his role of Charlie Brown in the school’s spring performance of You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown. Also all of the Peanuts gang will be performing their version of The Book Report at the evening festivities. Blazing Stars is an organization which honors excellence in musical theater at the secondary level. Deltona High is honored to be one of the high schools in Volusia County to send representatives to this event on Friday, may 5 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gillespy Theater at the New-Journal Center.

Deltona High sent 8 representatives to the Florida State International Thespian Convention in Tampa where they competed with other state thespians in Monologues, Musical, Costume and Pantomime. Jennie Hayes brought home two Superior ratings in Monologues and Publicity, Arienne Shelton also rated Superior in her solo musical selection while Jenna Bryant, Uriel Seranno, Chris Seremeta and Natalie Yrisarry represented District III at State in Pantomime for the closing night performance. Stephanie Conway received an excellent for her costuming plots for the restoration comedy, School for Scandal.
