Arctic Zone'Tis the Season

It’s January, and even though the local temperatures have dropped to unreasonable lows lately, a good portion of the country has the ability to ice-skate on frozen ponds. Who says we Floridians can’t join in the fun? The locale doesn’t offer any frozen ponds nearby, but the Arctic Zone Ice Rink–while a wee bit chilly inside–won’t leave you with windburn or let you fall through thin ice only to splash around in freezing water.
The Arctic Zone Ice Rink is open seven days a week with public skating daily from 1 - 4 pm. For hesitant beginners or those who wish to improve their skills, a variety of skating classes are offered. They have three levels of specialized tot classes for 3-5 year olds. For 6-16 year olds there are six levels of basic classes. For more advanced skaters, freestyle classes are offered. These classes include jump and spin, artistry in motion, and power and edge. Pre-Hockey classes are also offered, and the ice rink is the home of a local junior league team. Schedules and prices vary, for more information contact the ice rink.
Like every skating rink should be, The Arctic Zone Ice Rink is available for birthday parties. The birthday package includes an hour in the party area, two hours of skating and skate rental, a pizza, unlimited soda and popcorn, invitations, a balloon bouquet, a party host/hostess, plates, cups, utensils, napkins, complimentary skating passes for two adults, and more.
The ice skating rink is open all year and while it’s a fun place to visit during the winter season, it’s also a great place to enjoy some cool weather during those scolding hot Florida summers.
