The Mayors Alliance has presented speakers who are involved with local issues concerning people with disabilities. We have had the public works manager Stan Lemke who stated that curb cuts and sidewalks are installed if requested. Ed Jasper from the county discussed beach access. Lois Bollenback from Votran detailed their plans for public transportation and the process involved in providing shelters and benches at bus stops and availability of using the Gold service if your visiting from out of town. This month of October the speaker will be Chief Michael Chitwood from the Daytona police department. He will be discussing pedestrian safety as well as White Cane Awareness month.
