Aqualung is the Ultimate Tribute to Jethro Tull
Band Members are
Eric Bess - Lead Vocals and Flute
Fred Peterson - Electric and Acoustic Guitars
Rick Spence - Bass Guitar
Mark Mendonca - Drums, Flute,Backing Vocals
Eric is from Huntsville Alabama and is an artist and owns an interior design company, Artistic Innovations Inc. He traveled the southeast with the band Square One. The band would come through the Daytona beach area on their tours and Eric decided to make Daytona Beach his home. He started the band Avatar that featured Eric as front man, but he soon noticed that when he played flute on a few Jethro Tull numbers that the crowds loved it, He decided to transform Avatar into Aqualung and make it a full on Tribute show.
Fred is from New York City and is a full time musician. He worked with many bands in the 1980's including The Spines, VooDoo Quartet and The Perssuaders, Playing venues such as Max's Kansas City, CBGB's and Irving Plaza. In addition to Aqualung, He also Currently plays with Felony, Low Profile, The Rodney Jr Band and Stemm Cell.
Rick is From Leeds, England and is a Computer Programmer and teaches Programming at his school, WebTech in St. Augustine. He also has offices in London. He is an accomplished Jazz bassist on the St. Augustine/Jacksonville Jazz scene, having worked with Teddy Washington and Fats Lewis to name a few.
Mark is from Tauten, Massachusetts and is also a full time musician. His current band The Mark's Brothers, is currently working in the Melbourne/Orlando area. He is best know as drummer and featured vocalist of Taylor Made, a James Taylor Tribute Band.
This incarnation of Aqualung started in 1997 with a different Guitarist Fred Joined the band in the Fall on 1997. Rick left the band in 1999 and was replaced first by Dave O'Dell (currently with the band FELONY) and then Mike Markowski (currently with the band STICK), Rick re-joined the band in 2002. A favorite at Bike Week and Biketoberfest, They have played most of the local clubs in the area, Including Finnegan's Beachside Pub, Beaches Sandbar & Pub 44, to mention a few. During Bike Week/Biketoberfest They have played most of the Biker clubs including Broken Spoke Saloon, The Jackson Hole Saloon, The Boot Hill Saloon and The Iron Horse Saloon.
