InTension
Undisputable Icons of Excellence
InTension...the name conjures many possible interpretations. Regardless of your interpretation of the band's name, there is no ambiguity when evaluating the band's ability to deliver. They are definitive leaders of the local music scene, continually setting new standards and showing that yes, it can be done. Coupled with their extraordinary song writing and riveting performance skills, their professionalism and prowess simply cannot be disputed whether you like their sound or not. Thus it has come to pass, that on the night of April fifteenth, two thousand six, InTension hosted a triumphant CD release party at the Fuel entertainment complex that presented to the public the highly anticipated debut CD "Taking Over".
Before InTension took the stage, four bands ushered in the evening...7 Blue
Skies, Dance Floor Tragedy, Rising Up Angry, and Holotype. On a stage where
the sound and lighting were professionally done, these four bands played their
hearts out in honour of the evening, and the crowd responded favorably. InTension
exceeded the crowd's highest expectations with their performance. The evening
had a professional feel, and attracted a large crowd who, just like at any
InTension show, continued to sing InTension songs long after the performance.
The CD has fourteen songs, a few of which were written back when InTension was a five piece, and some newer songs as well. The CD was recorded, mixed, and mastered at Earwaves Digital Recording, and produced by InTension. It is available locally at Atlanic Sounds, and you can order it online from CD baby, Best Buy, Borders, and iTunes to name just a few.
To be a member of the band InTension is a full time job. They are continually
working on the next level up to promote themselves, and are on the way to making
a career out of their music. After a three month stint on the east coast of
the U.S. in the Los Angeles area, they returned to Daytona Beach for a few
months before taking off for Detroit, where they commenced their take over
of the north eastern region of the U.S. Their take over of the north western
region of the U.S. is soon to be under way, and you can bet that InTension
is hardly even scratching the surface of what they will soon accomplish.
"It's not often you find a band who has it together as much as these
guys," says Travis, an artist and long time fan of InTension.
InTension is: Gus Colarusso on lead vocals and bass, Rick Kovac on guitar and vocals, and Justin Doig on drums and vocals. The three of them form one of the tightest elements of cohesion that hard rock has seen in a while anywhere...be it on MTV or VH1. Just ask any one who catches them at a show. Whether you are a fan of the sound or not, there are certain facts that cannot be disputed. InTension has it together, and they are going for it. InTension is "Taking Over" as a group of undisputable icons of excellence.
