On Saturday June 25, 2005 my son, grand daughter arrived in Ormond Beach for vacation. For dinner, we decided to eat at a restaurant we knew well from home, The Olive Garden. We arrived about 6:30 pm and registed with the hostess, Marie. We sat down to wait and because I did not hear how long the wait would be, I asked the hostess how long the wait was. She looked up our pager number and said, "You have only been here 20 minutes, you will have to give us at least another 30 minutes." I said ok I just wondered how long the wait would be. She then said, "I said it would be 60 minutes, 1 hour." I said ok and turned to sit down and then decided I had been talked down to enough for one evening. I gave her back the pager and told her she was "just rude", and left. My son asked to see the manager, but no one ever responded. After leaving we went to IHOP and had a delicious meal and a server who was one of the best I have had. After returning to our condo, I called the restaurant to speak with the manager. After calling twice and speaking briefly with the manager, I was told they were unable to hear me on my cell phone and was then disconnected. Just thought everyone should know, I wish I HAD KNOWN before being subjected to Marie.
