Pete's Pizzeria
A Little Slice of Heaven Right Here in Daytona
2005-09-07
Article Written by: Gina Pirozzi

If you are tired of generic corporate pizza places and long for a real New York style pizza, your search is over. Right here in Daytona Beach you can find one of the best places for pizza in Volusia County. Pete's Pizzeria Restaurant has been serving up New York style pizza for over 15 years in Daytona. With over 48 years in the pizza and restaurant business, Pete and his staff know what good food and good service is all about.

As you walk into this corner restaurant, on the corner of Nova Road and Beville, you are surrounded by the warm glow of the pizza oven and submerged in the smell of rich Italian spices and ingredients. Over the years the restaurant has gone through some changes. New tile work covers the countertops and floors. On top of the new paint there lies awards, recognition plaques, movie stills, and a faded picture of a young couple in front of their first pizza restaurant.

You can still find Pete working behind the counter creating doughy masterpieces. With his thick Italian accent he orders up the dish of your choice from a slice of pizza to a full course Italian meal. Whether you want a basic sub sandwich or a bowl of linguine with clam sauce, Pete's can satisfy. Pete's even offers an old Italian favorite: the zeppola. This sugary masterpiece is the Italian version of a funnel cake or elephant ear. A favorite of feasts and carnivals in the New York region can be found at Pete's as well. Pete's is open every day from 11am to 11pm except on Sundays when the hours are 12pm to 10pm. Pete's is one of the only places around that still accepts cash only. However, with food as good as his you don't mind the trip to the ATM. Pete's delivers their full menu with $10.00 minimum order. Pete's slogan "you've tried the rest, now eat the best" is not an empty promise but a full-fledged guarantee.
