WHD would like to introduce you to one of the newest restaurants in Downtown Daytona, Scraps. With their complete Breakfast and Lunch menu of made-from-scratch soups, salads, subs, sandwiches and more, this family-owned, friendly little diner is sure to have something for you.
Scraps' Breakfast menu includes a variety of Omelets, Pancakes, French Toast and side items, but my favorite item by far is their made-to-order Donuts. You can choose to have yours coated with powered sugar, but I prefer the Cinnamon and Honey coating. Orders come with either 10 or 20 donuts, but I always find them hard to share. They are SO delicious. For those of you with slightly larger appetites Scraps offers your choice of two "Big Breakfasts" each complete with every kind of breakfast treat that your stomach could wish for. Breakfast is served throughout the day, and even though a good breakfast is always tempting, you don't want to miss out on the awesome lunches that Scraps serves up as well.
On the Lunch menu there is something to satisfy even the pickiest of tastes. Seven different types of Burgers, ten varieties of Grilled Chicken Sandwiches and both regular and foot long Hot Dogs and Chili Dogs are only the beginning. Whether you prefer Teriyaki, BBQ or Blue Cheese, Scraps has you covered. For under $7 you will get just about any sandwich you can imagine, your way, made to order and served with your choice of fries, cole slaw, potato salad or pasta salad. Scraps also offers five amazing Salads that are each large enough to be a meal in itself.
Like some larger chain restaurants that shall remain nameless, Scraps also gives you the option of building your own Wraps, Subs or Sandwiches. All of their meats are sliced fresh daily and you can choose up to two meats to be served with your topping choices on either white, wheat or seeded rye bread. If you are watching your carbs, you could always have your lunch made on a wrap—choose from the plain, tomato basil or spinach wrap. Served with all the sides mentioned previously and only costing $5.75, this is a lunch deal that you just can't beat.
Personally, I could make a meal out of side items alone, and I like to order their Fried Mozzarella Cheesesticks, some French Fries, O-Rings and maybe a salad. (Of course, I am a junk food junkie, and deep-fried foods are my favorite!) For those of you who watch your diets much more closely, check out the list of “Scraps Favorites.” There's Chicken Strips, Rueben, Tuna Salad and so much more. If you're out with family then you're sure to appreciate the Kid's Meals, including a Grilled Cheese, PB&J, Chicken Fingers or a Cheeseburger.
Scraps is located at 137 W. International Speedway, which is just a few steps west of Beach Street. They are open Monday – Saturday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and they do accept Visa and Mastercard. You can choose to Dine-In in their spacious dining room or take your order with you. You can even call ahead so that your order will be ready when you arrive.
