ATC and area employers to join forces on Opportunity Day

Meet area business representatives and learn about how to get the skills they require for employment by attending Opportunity Day on Wednesday, Oct. 25, at the Advanced Technology Center.

The event runs from 3 to 6 p.m., followed by an open house from 6 to 7:30 p.m..

Opportunity Day is being sponsored by the Center for Business Excellence, the city of Daytona Beach and Volusia County’s Department of Economic Development. Dozens of area employers - many who serve on ATC program advisory boards - will be on hand to talk about career opportunities within their organizations. ATC instructors also will make presentations related to a wide variety of degree and certificate programs, from computer engineering, digital media and networking to automotive service, air conditioning and heating repair, and robotics.

Tours of the high-tech ATC facility will take place every 15 minutes. Counselors and academic advisors also will be available to provide information about college credit programs for adults offered through Daytona Beach Community College, as well as dual enrollment programs which allow students under 18 to earn free college credits while they’re still in high school.

The ATC is located off Williamson Boulevard, just north of LPGA Boulevard. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, please call (386) 506-4100.
