If you love animals and appreciate art then we have a match for you! Halifax Humane Society is reviving an art project fundraiser that was highly successful in 2003 called the Picatsso Project. Forty sleek and sophisticated cat sculptures that were sponsored by local businesses, beautifully painted by artists from all over and finally auctioned off at an elegant event raised over $80,000.
Our new project is a handsome, fun loving dog named Muttisse. Local businesses have sponsored the forty one-of-a-kind Muttisse’s with classy and whimsical names like Power Pup, King Tuts Mutt, Great Dame, Canine Caddy, Land Rover and many more. These loveable canines will be running rampant on display all over Volusia County up until September 16, 2006 where they will be auctioned off to the highest bidder at a Silent & Live Auction. This elegant night out will include hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar featuring Mutt-inis.
Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to own one of these stunning pieces of art and support a local non-profit organization that cares for homeless animals. For more information on this fundraiser, Patti Thalheimer, HHS Development Director will be glad to answer any of your questions and can be reached at 386-274-4703 ext. 22. Updates on Muttisse whereabouts will be posted regularly on our website at: www.halifaxhumanesociety.org
