Press Release Alzheimer’s Association’s Memory Walk® 2006

*Daytona Beach, FL, September 24th, 2006 – Volusia County Community – The Central & North Florida Alzheimer’s Association’s annual Memory Walk for Alzheimer’s disease will take place on September 24th 2006, beginning at Daytona International Speedway ® located at 1801 W. International Speedway Blvd. Daytona Beach, Fla. 32114. Join us at 12:30pm for family fun, food, entertainment, and prizes. The Alzheimer’s Association’s Memory Walk is the largest national fundraising event for Alzheimer disease support programs and is held in more than 600 communities across the country. It attracts a wide audience of individuals, families, caregivers and corporate and community leaders. Americans who have participated in these walks have raised more than $175 million for programs and services to support individuals with Alzheimer’s disease.

*The Alzheimer’s Association, the world leader in Alzheimer research and support, is the first and largest voluntary health organization dedicated to finding prevention methods, treatments and an eventual cure for Alzheimer’s. For 25 years, the donor-supported, not-for-profit Alzheimer’s Association has provided reliable information and care consultation; created supportive services for families; increased funding for dementia research; and influenced public policy changes.

*The Central & North Florida Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association assist its 31 counties with education, resources and training for persons with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia, their family caregivers and professionals in health care. The programs are priceless to the estimated 100,000 people in Central Florida living with Alzheimer’s and the more than 500,000 families and caregivers directly affected by the degenerative brain disease. Our vision is a world without Alzheimer’s disease.

*I am requesting your assistance in getting the word out about our annual Memory Walk. Thank you for your consideration in this matter. Please feel free to contact me at 407-228-4299 or email me at ann.elias@alz.org if you have any questions.

Thank You,
Ann Elias
