FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
DBCC to offer wine tasting 101

(Daytona Beach, Fla., 03/22/06) - The Center for Business & Industry (DBCC) at Daytona Beach Community College (DBCC), in conjunction with ABC Fine Wines & Spirits, is offering a new course to entertain your palate. Wine Appreciation is a five week course for those interested in learning about wine as well a making social/business contacts.

Participants will be introduced to the basics of the wine-making process and how the vintner's art can influence the process to obtain an array of palatable results. Additionally, Wine Appreciation students will gain the knowledge essential to reading and understanding a wine's label. During each session, four to five different wines will be discussed, tasted, historically reminisced, and recommended for various pairings with food - the first and last class will include a variety of cheeses. This experience is sure to be an educational and social event for those who find viticulture (wine-making) intriguing!

Classes will be held on consecutive Wednesdays beginning April 5, from 6:15 to 7:45 p.m., at the Southeast Museum of Photography located on the DBCC Daytona Beach Campus, 1200 W. Int'l Speedway Blvd.

Course fee is $125 and includes wine, cheeses (April 5 and May 3), bottled water, cups, and instructional materials.

For additional information or to register, please call Dr. Theodore Sofianos at (386) 506-3103 or Joanne at 506-4224.
