(Daytona Beach, Fla., 10/05/06) - Wine Appreciation is a five week course for those interested in learning about wine as well a making social/business contacts. Presented by the Center for Business & Industry (DBCC) at Daytona Beach Community College (DBCC), in conjunction with ABC Fine Wines & Spirits, this course is sure to entertain your palate.
Participants will be introduced to the basics of the wine-making process and how the vintner's art can influence the process to obtain an array of palatable results. Additionally, Wine Appreciation students will gain the knowledge essential to reading and understanding a wine's label. During each session, four to five different wines will be discussed, tasted, historically reminisced, and recommended for various pairings with food- the first and last class will include a variety of cheeses. This experience is sure to be an educational and social event for those who find viticulture (wine-making) intriguing!
Classes will be held on consecutive Wednesdays beginning Oct. 25 (no class Nov. 22), from 6:15 to 7:45 p.m., at the Southeast Museum of Photography located on the DBCC Daytona Beach Campus, 1200 W. Int'l Speedway Blvd.
Course fee is $99 and includes wine, cheeses (Oct. 25 and Nov. 29), bottled water, cups, and instructional materials.
