Description:

Gailforce, a Top Female Duo in Florida, Offers
an Original Sound and a Radiant Stage Presence

Named 2003 Duo of the Year and 2004 Vocal Group of the year by Songwriters Showcases of America

DAYTONA BEACH, Florida – With distinctive voices, along with an acoustic harmony of silver and steel, singer-songwriters Gail Delagi and Tina Gordon are truly original. And they are one of the top female duos in Florida.

They perform as Gailforce, although their growing number of fans – from all over the United States – simply call them, “The Girls.” Recently, Gailforce opened for the popular band, Shenandoah, and shared the stage with Paintin’ the Town Tour’s John Berry, David Lee Murphy and Lee Roy Parnell at the 6th Annual Party in the Pines music festival in New York.

In October 2004, the Songwriters Showcases of America (SSA) named Gailforce the Vocal Group of the Year. They were honored by the SSA also in 2003 with the Duo of the Year award.
Gail and Tina’s radiant and riveting stage presence coupled with the bond and connection between them is so natural and pleasing that countless listeners are convinced these performers are sisters. And the contrast of their voices and personalities adds another exciting dimension to their performances.

Their unique blend of vocals, acoustic guitars, and flute (along with an occasional harmonica) is synchronized in perfect harmony whether performing originals or cover tunes. Their material includes Country, Rock, Southern Rock, Blues, Folk and Pop. Gail and Tina’s sound is original, but fans have likened them to the Indigo Girls.

The duo’s first CD, entitled Covering a Decade, was released in early 2002. It has since sold more than 2000 copies – many of them to the loyal fans who are frequently in the audiences at the various venues where Gail and Tina perform. Their cd is also for sale online at www.cdbaby.com. Over the years, Gailforce’s mailing list grew to more than 500 names, although most communication now is through e-mail. And, of course,

Gailforce has its own Web site, www.gailforceband.com, where the performance schedule is listed. The duo is booked for about 200 to 250 performances a year.

Many of their fans and loyal followers, from Florida to California to New Hampshire, are the participants and devotees of special events staged in Daytona Beach each year. Those include NASCAR races such as The Daytona 500 in February and the Pepsi 400 in July; Bike Weeks in March and October (about 600,000 motorcyclists); Spring Breakers; and beach lovers who vacation frequently in Florida. International visitors are also drawn to Gailforce performances.

“Many tourists who visit Daytona Beach each year make it a point to know where we’re performing. It’s not unusual for us to see many of the same faces year after year,” says Gail.

“Our CD has been very popular with our out-of-town fans. They like the idea of taking our music with them when they leave Daytona Beach,” says Tina. “It gives them something to tide them over until their next visit.”

The duo tailors its set lists to each audience, whether it is families, bikers, or tourists. It is not unusual for Gail and Tina to learn a new cover tune that was requested by a fan. People are often surprised to hear them perform the song not long after the request was made.

Gailforce has opened for nationally known musicians and performed for audiences of up to 20,000.

Tina, a flautist and guitarist with a degree in education, writes most of the originals for the duo. She has also written radio jingles. Gail is also a talented songwriter and guitarist. Gail’s solid rhythm guitar and expressive style is the backbone of their acoustic sound.

Gail and Tina recorded one of their originals (Catch Me a Rainbow) in early 2003 while attending a music conference in Nashville. The song received a nomination for “Song of the Year” at the 2003 SSA Awards Show.

Tina’s dynamic voice has also brought her in demand to sing the National Anthem a cappella at various venues, including the Daytona International Speedway, New Smyrna Speedway, the Jacksonville Jaguars, All-Pro Rodeo and the Daytona Cubs.

Gail and Tina met in 1993 when Gail was performing solo and heard Tina singing (in harmony) in the crowd. Gail invited her on stage – and since then, the two have been performing together.

Their unique sound of tight harmony and beautiful combination of flute and acoustic guitars has stood the test of time – and is still delighting fans and newcomers.
