2006-07-27
Article Written by: Ray Siracusa
Treat your senses to the sight of two lovely ladies with the sounds of angels and the tastes of Brooklyn. Last night Gailforce stormed into Port Orange and thrilled the many customers that frequent the Brooklyn Ice Caffe. Gailforce combined the beauty of Gail and Tina with the melodic tunes from country, folk, pop/rock, blues and soul with the delicious tastes of the special Latte's and Grilled Panini Sandwiches made by Philip Farruggio and his son Philip jr. The Brooklyn Ice Caffe is owned and operated by the Farruggio family along with partner Tom Infantilino. The caffe is situated perfectly on the corner of Clyde Morris Blvd and Herbert Street and has the best Paninis and Lattes in town.
Other specialties include Christopher Bean Coffees, Specialty Drinks, Fountain Drinks, New York Toasted Bialys/Bagels and steamed jumbo hot dogs. The Farruggio family has added a new Brooklyn Java Bar to please everyone who steps through the door. Every Wednesday thru Saturday the Brooklyn Java Bar features live music and Jam Sessions from 8 pm until 11 pm. Gail and Tina played from 8 pm until 10 pm and packed the house with standing room only. If you are interested in finding out where and when these two sweethearts of music are playing next, you can find out by going into their web site at www.gailforceband.com or e-mail them to get on their mailing list at gailforceband@yahoo.com.

- 2003 Duo of the Year
- 2004 Vocal Group of the Year
- 2005 Spiritual Song of the Year - "I'm Not Worthy"
In the summer of 2003 and 2004 they traveled to Cedar Pine, New York to perform at the Party in the Pines Festival. There they had the opportunity to open for Leeroy Parnell, John Berry, David Lee Murphy, Charlie Daniels, Shenandoah, and 38 Special.
They have attended some very inspirational songwriting seminars in Nashville over the past few years and not only learned a lot, but also made some great friends. They are planning to put out a CD of original songs sometime in the near future.
Last fall they traveled to Nashville to produce a Christmas CD, entitled Christmas With The Girls. It was released in November, and in December they put on their first Christmas show at the Ormond Performing Arts Center. They hope to put on another show there this holiday season.
Over the past 4 years, Tina has been honored to sing the National Anthem for many special events and local organizations, including the Jacksonville Jaguars, Daytona Cubs, Daytona International Speedway, City of Port Orange, Ponce Inlet Lions Club, and many more.
The girls continue to play regularly at Iron Horse Saloon, Finnegan's in Flagler Beach,
AJ's Docksides, and Boot Hill Saloon (Main Street).
