The Daytona Beach Flea and Farmers Market claims to be the world’s largest flea market. While I certainly haven’t been to each and every flea market in the world to verify this claim, I find it extremely believable. Getting lost at the flea market is easy (maps are for sissies) with many rows that branch off the main aisle. The market is not only expansive in size, but it has almost anything and everything a person could want or need. Locals and tourists alike have been enjoying it for years.
Upon entering the facility, you will find two main sections: the Flea Market and the Farmers Market. Numerous vendors set up booths each weekend in both sections to sell their goods and demonstrate their products and services. The farmers market is pretty self-explanatory. Depending upon the season, an abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables are on sale in many varieties, both native and rare. Additionally, the market features both indoor and outdoor plant species. If you like brewing your own tea, one booth even has a great selection of tea leaves.
The flea market, on the other hand, isn’t as easily explained. It’s far too unbelievable to claim that if you want it they’ll have it, but the vast array of products includes CD’s, DVD’s, jewelry, clothing, leather belts and belt buckles, antiques, collectibles, gifts, toys, hot tubs, hammocks, pets (dogs, cats, turtles, etc.), farm equipment, cosmetics, picture frames, and so much more. Clearly, it’s obvious that they have things for every age and gender.
Not only is there unlimited opportunities for shopping at the DB Flea and Farmers market, but they also have food and beverages available for purchase throughout the venue. We’re not talking about just any type of food either, but carnival-style food with corn dogs, nachos, and funnel cakes. Beverages include sodas, water, and surprisingly, even beer. Furthermore, Harley’s Restaurant is an air-conditioned facility near the south parking area.
The Daytona Beach Flea and Farmers Market is open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 8 am-5 pm for your shopping convenience. It is located one block west of I-95 on Tomoka Farms Road, just off International Speedway Boulevard.
