Sands Theater Center Announces
DeLand Theatre Festival 2007 Auditions

DeLand, FL Oct 19, 2006 The Sands Theater Center announces auditions for our DeLand Theatre Festival 2007 at the theater (600 N. Woodland Blvd(17-92),DeLand,32720) Auditions are Sunday October 22 7p-9p, October 23 6p-9p, October 29 6p-9p musical audition only. Callbacks maybe necessary on November 5 from 5:30- 8p. All auditions are by appointment only. For an audition appointment time contact Jenny @ 386-738- 7156 or email at auditions@sandstheatercenter.com (preferred) For the audition, we ask you to prepare a two minute comedic monologue. You may also be asked to do a cold reading from the script. For the musical audition we ask for you to prepare a brief song (rock style preferred), no accompanist will be available. Please bring your own music. Tape and CD player will be available. Can be sung acapella. Soprano's Actor to direct at DeLand Theatre Festival 2007 New York actor-director Stewart Zully will be one of three guest artists to direct at the Sands Theater Center this upcoming January as part of the 2007 DeLand Theatre Festival.

Zully has been a producer, director and actor for over thirty years. For the past several years he has been featured on the HBO series, The Sopranos, portraying Tony Sopranos accountant. Among his other credits as an actor, are television appearances in Becker, Law and Order, Spin City, and in the films Wolf, Bonfire of the Vanities, and Malcom X. His Citibank commercial, in which he starred as Jake B (identity theft victim), received the 2004 Emmy for Best Commercial of The Year. Zully has directed extensively in New York, Toronto and Los Angeles and was the producer for Theatre 40s One Act Festival in Beverly Hills for five years during the 1990s. For the Deland Theatre Festival, Zully will be directing the play Min El Alb Lilalb, a drama by New Haven, Connecticut resident Tom Coash. Set on top of an Egyptian Pyramid, the play focuses on the relationship between an American woman (with Jewish roots) and a native Egyptian man. The show will premiere as part of Series A on the Main Stage on January 19. Besides directing for the Festival, Zully will also be hosting the seminar So You Want to be an Actor, at the Cultural Arts Center on Saturday, January 20, 2007 from 10a - 1p.

DeLand Theatre Festival 2007 is a 10-day celebration of theatrical presentations, bringing together an impressive array of artists and showcasing 10 original plays from authors around the country.
