DBCC Presents: The Last Days of Judas Iscariot
The Daytona Beach Community College Arts and Entertainment season continues with The Last Days of Judas Iscariot by Stephen Adly Guirgis, at the Daytona Beach Campus, J. M. Goddard Center (Bldg. 230) located at 1200 West International Speedway Blvd.
Theatre Director David Peshek brings to the stage this compelling and complex look at the conflict between divine love and the existence of free will. In a courtroom in Purgatory, Judas Iscariot stands trial for committing the world’s most infamous betrayal. Both saints and sinners appear as a feisty defense attorney desperately tries to spare her client the sentence of eternal damnation. A moving and soul searching look at faith, guilt, the power of the spirit, mercy, and redemption. Adult themes and language.
Performances run Oct. 26, 27, 28 & Nov. 2, 3, 4, at 7:30 p.m.
The performance is open to the public and tickets may be purchased for $5 Wednesday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and on Thursdays from 3:30 to 6 p.m. at the DBCC Box Office in the lobby of the Theater Center (220). Everyone with a valid DBCC I. D. card may pick up one free ticket at the Box Office. For additional information, call (386) 506-3042.
The performing arts programs at Daytona Beach Community College prepare students for a future in music, drama and dance while also providing entertainment opportunities for the community through a variety of events produced each semester. Proceeds from tickets are used to support the Performing Arts Scholarship program at DBCC.
