"Creature from the Black Lagoon"

Shown on 31' x 28' outdoor screen!

The Ormond Memorial Art Museum and Gardens, in collaboration with Cinematique of Daytona, will present a Halloween showing of the 1954 cult classic, by director, Jack Arnold, "The Creature from the Black Lagoon," Saturday, October 28 at 7:30 p.m. on the Museum grounds. The movie, considered to be the finest horror flick of the 1950's involved a scientific expedition traveling up the Amazon River in search of the remains of an aquatic human-like creature dating back to the Devonian Era. Scientist Dr. Mark Williams, played by Richard Dennings, feels he has made the discovery of the century, the undisputed beginnings of the human race. As predicted, soon things go horribly wrong. The creature, the "Gilll Man," who at first is confused by the presence of the expedition, assumes the offensive and ultimately seeks what he has been after all along -- Julia Adams, Dr. William's beautiful assistant, played by Kay Lawrence.

The eye-popping underwater photography and lush, rain forest scenes filmed in part, on location at Silver Springs, Ocala and Marineland, Florida, closely resemble the character of the Ormond Memorial Art Museum & Gardens. The stage is set for a haunting Halloween presentation of "The Creature from the Black Lagoon." Families welcome!

Cost: $5.00 movie entry - please bring lawn chair / cash bar
