STORYBOOK THEATER COMPANY ANNOUNCES AFTER SCHOOL DRAMA CLASSES AT SANDS THEATER CENTER AND HISTORIC DEBARY HALL

DeLand, FL—Beginning September 25, 2006, Storybook Theater Company, a division of the Sands Theater Center, will be starting after school drama classes for children ages 4 ½ to 17. lasses are being offered at both the Sands Theater Center and at the Historic DeBary Hall in DeBary. Storybook Theater Company will also be offering a Mom and Tot Drama Class taught by our Artistic Director and long time producer of Storybook Theater Company, Darlene J. Stewart. Darlene brings a wealth of knowledge and a sense of fun to the realm of creative dramatics for kids and their parents. Darlene will also be teaching the 41/2-6 year old set at the Sands. Other instructors are Kylie Koscoe, Honey Crum, and Nikki Schofield, all of whom have worked at the Sands for years and are frequent contributors to Storybook Theater Company activities.

Class sizes are limited and tuition varies by length of class. All session are six-weeks long, and the after school classes will culminate in a showcase presentation for parents.

Drama activities have been shown to “dramatically” increase reading scores, and teamwork is a central skill in all dramatic endeavors. The benefits of participation in children”s theater activities last a lifetime! Sign your child up today!
