STORYBOOK THEATER COMPANY PRODUCTION OF “THE PHANTOM TOLLBOOTH” OPENS JULY 21ST AT 7:30 PM
DeLAND, FL, JUNE 30,2006—The Storybook Theater Company at The Sands Theater in DeLand will be opening its second summer youth performance production, “The Phantom Tollbooth,” on July 21 at 7:30 PM. Additional performances will be July 22, 23, 29 & 30 at 2:30 PM, and July 28 at 7:30 PM. This show based on the classic novel written by Norton Juster has been adapted and written for the stage by Susan Nanus and is directed by Darlene J. Stewart, the Sands Theater Center Education Director. The play features the talents of 24 of our local upper elementary and middle school students. JoJo Hennessy and Austin Champoux are double cast in the role of “Milo” the young man who makes the journeys to the wonderful lands beyond the Phantom Tollbooth. Tickets are $8 for Adults and $5 for Children under 12. The play will be on our Main Stage and will be general admission seating. Call the box office at 386-736-7456 for additional information or reservations starting July 18th. The theater is located in the Cultural Arts Center at 600 N. Woodland Blvd. (17-92) in DeLand.
In addition to the boys playing Milo, the role of “Clock/Tock, the Watch Dog”, is shared by Zachary Bartocha and Andy Baumgartner. The “Humbug” will be played in alternating turns by Warren Taylor and Chris Cannizzarro. The roles of King AZAZ and the Mathemagician will be portrayed by Henry Taylor and Frank Japes, respectively.

Conti-Benkert, Juliana Elrod, Alex Finkle, Iliana Hindalova, Savannah Johnson, Hilary Kizma, Neva Miller, Brian Pendleton, Emily Kate Posson, Olivia Stuart, Mark Supinski, Michael Supinski, and William Taylor.
